Leah Bryan
Leah Bryan is a third-year student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in journalism with a minor in photography.
In February of 2025, Leah completed her most recent photo story, competing among 20 students at UNL's College of Journalism and Mass Communications in the 24-hour Perry photojournalism challenge. She placed third and received a scholarship to continue on her path towards photojournalism.
Currently, Leah is in the post-production stage of a story that brought her to Tra Vinh, Vietnam from December 2024 to January 2025. She is currently fine tuning her multimedia story which highlights the Khmer ethnic group and will publish the story in May 2025.
Looking forward, Leah plans to share the story a female kicker's dedication, passion and struggles on an all-male football team at Nebraska Wesleyan University, expected to be completed towards the end of the year. Leah also aims to travel to Costa Rica to create a multimedia story highlighting the increasing homicide rates from December 2025 to January 2026.
Leah's passion for telling visual stories has taken her on 14-hour flights and 15 continuous hours of photographing. Leah's interests in stories and the outdoors combine to create unique opportunities for her and her subjects through photo and video.
After graduation, Leah plans to work as a photojournalist and create content that inspires people to connect with others and explore the world around them.
